On Tenth Amendment Protections

We hear a lot of talk about "States Rights" when a discussion of the 10th Amendment comes up. That's not really what the amendment is about. States don't have rights. Only we as  individuals have rights. The federal government has powers and duties granted by the Constitution, and the 10th Amendment provides that citizens may grant  other powers and duties to their respective states, but no government, state or otherwise, can assume, or be granted, the power to usurp our individual rights.

In response to the growing federal government, many state and local governments are initiating actions to protect themselves from illegal federal intervention. They need a strong ally and advocate in Washington to speak and vote against the onslaught of federal interventions. Rex Bell will be that ally and advocate.
